The Northern Sierra Air Quality Management District is happy to announce that after a several week delay the ‘May Free Green Waste’ event is set to begin this Saturday at the IMD Delleker transfer station on Saturday, May 20, 2023. The event will continue through Saturday, June 10, 2023.
The District would like to thank the Portola city residents for their patience as we worked closely with Intermountain Disposal (IMD) observing flood conditions of the roadway in and out of the green waste site. In order to ensure public safety and convenience of delivery we were forced to delay the start of this event. Thankfully, we have had a few high temperature weeks and it’s been determined that the green waste site can be safely accessed by the public.
Please remember to bring a photo ID and a utility bill that shows your physical address on it, one or both may be required. This program is specifically for City of Portola residents to offset their inability to open burn within the city limits.
Where:
Delleker Transfer Station:
73980 Industrial Way
Delleker, CA 96122
Hours:
Saturday – Tuesday 9 am to 4 pm
Closed 12 – 12:30 pm for lunch

Also, remember to separate your woody waste, pine needles, and pine cones. We encourage folks to take advantage of this program if you’ve been or are starting to clean the green waste up from your property. If you have any questions for the district please call the air district at 530.832.0102 EXT 1 for Mikki or 2 Cynthia.

Are there any plans for something like this in Quincy?
What about having this for the rest of this end of Plumas County? Everyone needs a FREE GREEN WASTE DUMP site to cut down on the fire risk.
