New mandatory evacuations for Greenville, Crescent Mills and more UPDATED

Plumas County Sheriff Todd Johns has issued a series of new evacuation orders this afternoon as the Dixie Fire continues to advance. The fire that spotted above Twain near Eagle Rock yesterday has expanded and placed several areas under mandatory evacuation.

Mandatory evacuation orders are now in effect for residents of Greenville, Crescent Mills, Round Valley Reservoir, Dixie Canyon (just above Crescent Mills), Indian Falls,  Long Valley (west of Round Valley), Dixie Canyon south to Indian Falls, south of Indian Falls to the Highway 70/89 junction.

A mandatory evacuation also is ordered from Highway 70 at Blackhawk Road, north to Highway 70/89 junction, and everything on the western side of Highway 70 including Butterfly Valley and Blackhawk. You should leave the area immediately.

A mandatory evacuation is also ordered for everything west of Highway 89/36 junction, west along the south side of Highway 36 to the county line.

Shelter is open at Springs of Hope Church in Quincy at 59 Bell Lane.

Shelter is open at Chester Memorial Hall at 180 Gay St.

Residents can evacuate north to Highway 147 and then to Chester for shelter, or southbound via Highway 89 and 70 to Quincy.

A warning is issued for the residents of Black Hawk Road south to Barlow Road and west to Snake Lake including the residences on the south side of Highway 70.

Taylorsville, east side of Keddie, Round House Road and Old Highway are also under evacuation warning
