No water in Portola; no school on Friday for Portola students
Plumas Unified School District Superintendent Bill Roderick announced this evening that there will be no school for students who attend C. Roy Carmichael Elementary and Portola Junior-Senior High School on Friday, March 3. That’s because the city of Portola’s water is temporarily shut off. The city made that announcement late this afternoon as workers try to address a water leak in its system. There is no estimated time for water to be restored.
Roderick said that since this is an unforeseen emergency, students will not be required to make up the classroom minutes lost.
