One Act Play Festival looking for plays

After a two year in-person performance hiatus, Pachuca Productions is coming back with its One Act Play Festival in the fall of 2022 and needs new material and new players to make it happen.

Pachuca Productions is issuing a ‘call for submissions’ for one act plays 10-minutes long or less.

“We’re taking monologues, short plays, two person skits, improv, dance routines, comedy, satire, magic, poetry recital, the works. We just ask that it’s original and no longer than 10 minutes,” said director Tina Terrazas.

Terrazas especially wants to see students of all ages submit their works. The work can be a collaboration of more than one person — it just has to be an original work generated in Plumas County on any subject. The creators of the “plays” can perform the pieces themselves or have Pachuca cast the piece and find actors to do it. Either way, Terrazas plans on lots of collaboration.

“Pieces do not have to be perfect,” said Terrazas. She will work with creators to get the pieces ready for performance. The deadline to submit either a full play or an idea for one is May 30, 2022. The festival will play Plumas County over a few days in the fall. Prizes will be given out during the festival in a variety of categories. Send work to [email protected]. For more information email [email protected].
