PDH thanks Seneca, Eastern Plumas for their assistance

Plumas District Hospital is now fully operational following an electrical issue that forced the healthcare facility  to put its emergency room and obstetrics patients on diversion Monday, Jan. 10. “Every service line is now operational,” Chief Executive Officer JoDee Read said Jan. 12.

She thanked both Seneca Healthcare District and Eastern Plumas Health Care for their assistance during the downtime. Seneca accepted two patients from PDH, while Eastern Plumas sent seven hospital beds. Read explained that during the electrical issue its beds became stuck in various positions and are awaiting a repairman.

Read said that the company that provides the hospital’s generator accepted responsibility for the electrical issue.

Electrical problems have plagued PDH the past couple months following power failures and backup generator issues, but Read is hopeful that all issues have been addressed.
