Planning underway for centennial celebration
December already? I hope everyone is gearing up for a fun and fantastic holiday season.
Your Chamber is also looking forward to the new year — 2020 is shaping up to be a year to remember. The board met last week to discuss events and a new way of offering event sponsorships to our businesses … stay tuned and watch your email for further information, as we think the new process will make it much easier for everyone who wants to participate.
Did you know? 2020 is the 100th anniversary of the Chester/Lake Almanor 4th of July parade — and we plan to celebrate!
There are currently conversations in progress to determine feasibility of doing a barge show starting with next year’s 4th of July Fireworks Extravaganza. We will keep the community appraised of the outcome of those discussions.
In the meantime, we also want to put out a challenge to all of our local businesses who benefit from having visitors during this period and to our thousands of visitors who enjoy the show to donate to the Fireworks Fund — it costs the Lake Almanor area $19,000+ each year to put on the fireworks show, and it isn’t possible without your help. Even a $5 donation will add up if everyone can contribute. Please mail your checks to the Lake Almanor Area Chamber of Commerce, PO Box 1198, Chester, CA, 96020, or go online to donate via the banner near the top of the Chamber’s homepage: lakealmanorarea.com.
