Play continues at Graeagle Meadows

Last Wednesday golfers’ play was a net two-man alternate shot affair. The victors for this game were Tom Fregulia and Ron Clark, who shot a combined 56. Next up was the team of John Grasso and Norm Nichols who shot a score of 65 and third place went to the team of Bob Davies and Wally Walker, with the score of 67. Fourth was the team of George Fraser and Jeff Monaghan, with a 68, while fifth went to Dennis Flynn and Grant Mayfield who shot 69.

Due to the format that was played there were no skins contested.

The first-place and consolation matches were also played. The first-place match ended up all square after 18 holes but Bert Bellows took the match over Bill Hopp on the second playoff hole. In the consolation match, with mark Yuill up by 1 on the 17th hole, Dave Macdonald encountered some tree trouble so Mark won 2 and 1.

September is looking to be quite eventful for GMGA with four events slated. First up was the Combined Championships, on Sept. 11 and 13, followed by a Member-Member tournament on Sept. 18. Sept 23 there is the Men’s Fall Meeting, which is followed by a 2-man scramble, and rounding out the month is the Big Chief tournament on Sept. 27.

Graeagle Women

The final round of the 2020 GMWGC Club Championship was played on Sept. 10. The Club Champion is the low gross winner after three rounds of competition. For the 22nd time, Priscilla Piper was crowned the GMWGC Club Champion, with a score of260. Debbie Fuetsch was the Runner-up with a score of261.

The playday winners included: First Flight, First Low Gross, Priscilla Piper; Second Low Gross, Debbie Fuetsch; and, First Low Net, Alaine Flynn (211). Second Flight winners were: Low Gross, Cheryl Brennan (308); First Low Net, Patty Monaghan (217); and, Second Low Net, Cathy Churchill (226).
