Plumas County celebrates Probation Services Week

With a legacy spanning over 100 years, Probation Departments across California have led, collaborated, and defended effective practices within the justice system. Probation is dedicated to helping justice-involved individuals transition out of the system permanently through transformative and evidence-based rehabilitation.

Probation in California plays a critical role as an alternative to incarceration. Officers are center-focused, constantly evaluating and adjusting dual mandates of supervision and support, to strike the best balance for sustainable community safety.  This is achieved by utilizing evidence-based assessments to connect services with specific client needs to enhance safety and restoration; training officers to be experts in supervision, de-escalation and rehabilitation; while balancing individualized accountability and restoration for long-term transformation and sustainable safety.

“As Chief Probation Officer, I would like to express my sincere gratitude for the dedication exhibited by the talented, compassionate and hard-working staff at the Probation Department.  I genuinely admire and appreciate these individuals and the quality work they proudly provide serving our community,” said Chief Probation Officer Keevin Allred.
