I want to offer my thanks and appreciation to Tracey Ferguson, Plumas County AICP-Planning Director and Plumas County Fire Safe Council Board Member, for your expertise and enthusiastic efforts to interface with local, state, and federal public agencies including the Fire Safe Council.

Your efforts on all levels are directed towards the viability and sustainability of Plumas County communities. Thanks especially for your recent presentation at the Quincy Firewise Community meeting.

Your summary of CAL FIRE’s recent release of the updated Fire Hazard Severity Zone Map for Plumas County was both clarifying and informative. Thank you, Tracey, for your monthly updates at the Fire Safe Council meetings and your commitment to a healthy and vibrant Plumas County. -Sally McGowan

The nomination process and guidelines are available on the PCFSC website, www.plumasfiresafe.org, under the Recognition tab.  A Certificate of Recognition will be awarded to any person, business or community that acted in a manner which helped to reduce the losses from wildfires.

Anyone can nominate a candidate they feel is deserving. A subcommittee will then review the nominees and submit to the Board for a vote to honor the nominee(s) with a certificate. Initially the goal will be to have an announcement at the monthly meetings, which takes place the second Thursday of every month.
