Plumas County Republic Women to meet Oct. 27; install new officers

The Plumas County Republican Women will hold their last meeting of the season on Thursday Oct. 27 at the Calpine Elks Lodge on Highway 70 near Portola.  Doors open at 10:45 a.m. with meeting at 11 a.m.

New officers will be installed for the next term.

Guest speakers will be describing  “At Oildale” an independent film about the treatment of returning veterans.  Information to live stream the movie will be provided.

Members are encouraged to bring items suggested in the recent newsletter for distribution to the domestic violence victims at the shelter.  This is an important outreach to PCRWF members.

For more information or to make luncheon/meeting reservations, please contact Becky Walker at (530) 616-5861 by Oct. 17.  Cost for the luncheon is $30. The Republican Women are grateful for the hospitality provided by the Lady Elks.

Membership dues for 2023 are being received now.  New memberships for 2023 will also be taken. This is a Republican Women’s Club set in a social situation.  Any Registered Republican woman from Plumas County may join.

Membership benefits include these informative social meetings, updates weekly from California Republican Women Federated via their newsletter Capital Update about legislative bills in California, in addition to monthly information from the Nation’s Capitol.

The goal is to inform and educate the members and to support Republican candidates, especially women.  Republican men are also encouraged to attend as Associate Members.  For more information please call Barbara Windward 530-283-9628 or ask any member.  “There is always room at our table,” Windward said.
