Plumas NF temporary road closure
Plumas National Forest Road #24N24 (Three Lakes Road), will be temporarily closed for slide repairs conducted by PG&E, through Nov. 30.
The closed segment starts at campsite #7 at Lower Bucks Lake, north to its terminus at Three Lakes Trailhead. The Forest Service and PG&E share maintenance responsibilities for this route; the Forest Service completed repairs in another segment in 2017.
The closure will be in place 24-hours per day due to unsafe conditions, active heavy equipment operations and hazards on the road during and after reconstruction operations.
For alternate recreation opportunities and route information, call the Mt. Hough Ranger District at 283-0555.
People exempt from Forest Order No. 05-11-02-19-12 include federal, state and local officers and members of organized rescue or firefighting forces in performance of official duty, landowners in the area —to the extent necessary to access their land — and those with specific permits allowing them use of the roads.
Please see the Forest Order, including maps, at local Forest Service offices or on the web (Alerts & Notices) at www.fs.usda.gov/plumas.
