Plumas Pines Women’s Golf is underway
The Plumas Pines Women’s Golf Club season got off to an enthusiastic start on June 6 with a beautiful day of golf followed by an opening day meeting and social. The game was a two-person net best ball with the team of Cathy Cianciolo and Carol Desmond scoring 64 and winning in a card off, with Sharon Russell and Connie Raheb taking second place. Sharon Russell posted the season’s first chip in on Hole 15.
The Single Eclectic also started with players competing to improve their games throughout the summer to create their best dream scorecard, ending on August 29.
On Tuesday, June 13, golfers engaged in a popular game, Scratch 3 net. In a tight contest with the top three players each just one stroke apart; Connie Raheb was victorious with a 59, closely followed by Judy Rossi, Dottie Hattich, and Sharon Russell. Pat Madsen posted the day’s only chip in on Hole 17.
A small, motivated number of “Niners” play nine holes on Tuesdays, teeing off after the main field. All members are welcome to play nine when they prefer a shorter alternative game.
PPWGC offers another opportunity to play on Thursday afternoons with Nine & Wine, a friendly game followed by an opportunity to relax with friends. Guests are welcome.
Couples Golf begins on Sunday, June 18, with a 1:00 p.m. shotgun start, followed by dinner on the Longboards’ deck. Pat Madsen is coordinating these monthly co-ed team competitions.
