Plumas Public Health announces COVID cases Nos. 47 and 48

It seems like the confirmed COVID cases come in waves. Yesterday the Plumas County Public Health Agency announced case No. 46, after an eight-day hiatus, and today, Sept. 11, cases Nos. 47 and 48 are announced.

The agency received notification of two positive COVID-19 test results — one for a resident in the Eastern region (Portola/ Graeagle area) which is No. 47, a close contact of No. 46 (reported yesterday). The individual has no symptoms.

The other positive resident in the Southern region (American Valley/Quincy area) is No. 48. It appears this individual may have contracted COVID-19 as a result of having to evacuate to a county outside of Plumas; the individual has no symptoms.

The contact tracing investigation is underway in both cases. If an exposed resident is identified during the investigation, the resident will be contacted by a member of the Public Health COVID-19 Response Team for further screening.

Of the 48 cases, 45 are considered recovered and three are active.
