Plumas Public Health to focus on top three health issues facing county residents

Plumas County Public Health is seeking assistance from residents. The agency is working on its Community Health Improvement Plan and has identified the top 10 health issues for Plumas County, but wants to narrow it down to the top 3:

  • Heart disease
  • Cancer
  • Unhealthy air quality
  • Diabetes and kidney disease
  • Alcohol related disease and injury
  • Accidents and injuries
  • Substance abuse and drug overdose
  • Food insecurity and hunger
  • Low utilization of preventive services
  • Suicide

(Please see attached document regarding the rational for the top health issues in our county.)

Public Health will focus on the top three issues over the next three to five years, which will be determined by the Plumas County residents and the community. Agency staff have already started the process of determining the top three health issues by attending various events throughout the communities and conducting a quick 3-minute survey of community members. Public Health also has an online survey that can be completed: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/MW8W8RCRational for 10 Ten PH Issues with logo
