Plumas Sheriff seeks help in locating missing man

The Plumas County Sheriff’s Office is requesting the public’s assistance in looking for James Thornton, 52, of Plumas County. James is a white-male, who is 6′ tall, 160 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes. James was last seen wearing a tan/brown flannel shirt, and Wrangler jeans. James has a prosthetic left foot.
According to a family member, James was last known to be with his broken down vehicle somewhere along Highway 89 near Canyon Dam (vehicle information is unknown). James was possibly on his way to the Portola area. James was last seen on Jan. 17 and was reported missing by a family member on Feb. 7.
