Plumas Unified is on a 2-hour delayed start UPDATED-all schools closed
UPDATE 8 a.m.: All schools will be closed today.
UPDATE 6:40 a.m.: Chester schools will be closed today due to undetermined time for power restoration and some unplowed roads.
All schools in the Plumas Unified School District are on a 2-hour delayed start today, Dec. 14, due to snowfall overnight. Heavy snow was reported in Portola and Chester, while moderate snow fell in Greenville and Quincy. As of this morning at 6 a.m., the heat is not working in Chester so there is a possibility that there could be a closure there. This story will be updated as more information becomes available.
