Poker run success

The Bucks Lake Snow Drifters held its annual poker run Feb. 1. Riders started the day at Bucks Lake Lodge and were treated to a hot lunch along the way.

The ride ended 40 miles later at Lakeshore Resort.

There were 250 poker hands sold to 165 riders. The competition was stiff with the top three winning hands showing 4-of-a-kind.

T.Kiviat won the first place prize of $300 with 4 aces. Second place was 4 kings held by Seth Higby, who walked away with $200. Darrell Willis won third prize with 4 sevens and took home $100.

Many drawing prizes were won, with all proceeds going to the Snow Drifters. The club supplies volunteers who work tirelessly to groom the trails in the Bucks Lake area for snowmobile riders and cross-country skiers.

The nonprofit group promotes family participation, respect for wilderness areas and safety.
