Both the City of Portola and the town of Quincy are hosting their Christmas celebrations on Friday, Dec.2.
Portola’s Christmas in Old Town gets underway from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Caboose parking lot in downtown Portola, with the parade to commence at 6 p.m. on Commercial Street. The festivities will include the popular Golden Ticket give-away for kids ages 3to 16, a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., the Old Town Marketplace, a crackling bonfire, caroling, and the tree lighting.
The Quincy Sparkle is from 5 to 8 p.m. in downtown Quincy. Merchants and organizations will open their doors to the public while entertainment is underway in front of the courthouse. The parade begins at 6:30 p.m., Santa arrives at 7 p.m. and the tree lighting is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
