Plumas National Forest reports that firefighters are underburning in the central portion of the forest (near Meadow Valley) and the eastern portion (north of Lake Davis). Both efforts are to augment fuel breaks (also called defensible fuel profile zones or DFPZs). Firefighters have planned the burns to be completed before the long holiday weekend. While smoke may be visible from surrounding areas, there are no anticipated impacts to communities.
