QHS athletic practices, games cancelled due to COVID outbreak

Quincy High School has temporarily cancelled practices and games associated with fall sports until contact tracing can be completed due to the report of 12 positive COVID cases uncovered during the school’s athletic testing. Athletes are tested on campus once a week in alternating groups, typically Monday and Wednesday.

The following sports are impacted:

  • Cheer
  • Volleyball
  • Soccer
  • Football

Plumas Unified School District made the announcement this morning, Oct. 5.

Plumas County Public Health is conducting the contact tracing and investigation in conjunction with Plumas Unified School District nursing staff.  Impacted students and staff will be contacted by Public Health or by PUSD staff.  Those who are not contacted can be re-assured they were not identified as being at elevated risk of contracting COVID-19 due to this outbreak.
