Rain delays Highway 70 work
For those planning a trip up or down the Feather River Canyon, travel will be a little easier for the next few days. Caltrans announced that the work being done along Highway 70 as a result of the Camp Fire is cancelled for the rest of the week due to rain.
However, there is a delay due to an emergency project to repair the highway after a sinkhole developed in the westbound lane near Twain. It requires construction crews to divert traffic away from the damaged lane with K-Rail. A temporary traffic signal is in place with current delays of up to 5 minutes. Work will begin as soon as there are five days without rain and other weather conditions forecast.
