A warning was issued today by Plumas County District Attorney Morris Durant concerning Halloween vandalism and stressed that parents would be responsible for any damage incurred by their children.

25 YEARS AGO … 1994

Seven are running for Plumas Unified School District school board positions: Sylvia Broyles. Kathy Price, Melody Zernich, incumbent Bill Wickman, all of Quincy; Centella Tucker, Salvatore Catalano and Elmer Lewis, all of Indian Valley. Note: later published election results indicated that Wickman and Tucker won the seats in that PUSD race

10 YEARS AGO … 2009

A recreated Western Pacific Railroad California Zephyr passenger train will take passengers from Oakland to Portola and back through the Feather River Canyon October 30-November 1. The three car train will consist of the Silver Rapid sleeper, the Silver Lariat Vista dome coach and the Silver Solarium vista dome coach. The California Zephyr made its last run in the Feather River Canyon on March 22, 1970.
