The Plumas Sierra County Fair gets underway today, with the theme “Celebrating Fairs Past.”
Following are some of the highlights of this year’s fair that runs Thursday, July 28 through Sunday, July 31, with a link to the full schedule below.
Thursday, July 28
Senior & Kids Day
Visitors 62+ and 12 and under receive free admission
Noon – Fair officially opens
12 p.m. – Special Luncheon for Seniors
1 p.m. – Carnival Opens
1 p.m. – 4-H/FFA Sheep Showmanship, Market, Breeding and Jr. Buckaroo
6:30 p.m. Music in Old Town: Walker and Willis
Midnight – Fair and carnival closes
Friday, July 29
Noon- Fair opens
1 p.m. – Carnival Opens
1 p.m. – 4-H/FFA Meat Goat Showmanship, Market & Breeding
5 p.m. – Gymkhana in the Horse Arena
7 p.m. – Ladies and Gentlemen’s Lead/SPI Pavilion
7:30 p.m. – Music in Old Town: Rickety Bridge
Midnight – Fair & Carnival Closes
Saturday, July 30
10 a.m. – Parade in downtown Quincy
Noon – Fair opens
1 p.m. – Carnival Opens
2 p.m. – Small Animal Round Robin behind Ag Barn
7 p.m. – Jake Jacobson headlines in the grandstands
7:30 p.m.- Music in Old Town: Rummy
Midnight – Fair & Carnival Closes
Sunday, July 31
9 a.m. – Plumas-Sierra County Junior Livestock Auction
9 a.m. – Church Services on the West Lawn
Noon – Fair opens
1 p.m. – Carnival Opens
7 p.m. – American Valley Speedway Racing
