Residents can plan now for Clean California Community Day

Caltrans District 2 is inviting local residents  to participate in “Clean California Community Day” — a statewide event that spans March 17 to 27, 2023. Communities across the state are encouraged to create new habits that reflect pride, learn about proper trash disposal, environmental impacts, and discuss with neighbors how to improve their community.
Everyone is encouraged to join in this statewide call-to-action! Pledge to pick an area to clean up, do some landscaping, or plant a garden. The activity can be as big or as small as you wish! Work alone or in a group but be sure to snap some photos and share them on Facebook and tag Caltrans District 2. You can also send your photos to [email protected]. Caltrans looks forward to seeing how you transform your community!
If you’re interested in complimentary trash bags, please send an email to [email protected]. Be sure to include the number of participants in your clean-up event so that Caltrans can gauge how many bags and pickers can be shared with your group. Supplies are limited.
Clean California invests $1.1 billion for state and local governments to clean up trash and debris statewide, beautify community gateways and public areas along highways, streets and roads and provide good jobs to thousands of Californians. Over three years, Clean California will remove an additional 1.2 million cubic yards, or 21,000 tons of trash from the state system alone. That’s enough to fill the Rose Bowl three times over! Thank you for your commitment to join us in cleaning California!
