Rodeo riders climb into the saddle on 4th of July

Indian Valley Riding and Roping Club has announced its Grand Marshal for the Taylorsville 4th of July Rodeo. “It’s the Neer brothers,” said rodeo organizer and all-around go-to gal Misty Banchio. “We are also going to have a local mini Broncos this year again.”

Emma Kingdon is running for Queen. The Queen Horsemanship competition took place June 23. The first of three Summer Series followed.

The 4th of July Rodeo in Taylorsville is a hometown tradition including a parade “downtown” at 10 a.m. The celebration starts with pancake breakfast begins 7:30 a.m.

The weekend will just be starting as far as rodeo action goes, because July 5, 6, 7 and 8 are the Jackpot Team Roping events in the same Taylorsville arena.

Summer Series 2 is scheduled for July 21 and 3 will be in September with the date not yet cemented.

Taylorsville Junior Rodeo will be at the arena July 26 and 27 when the sun will be high and the dust will be flyin’.
