S.W.A.T. gets into the swing of things

Plumas County Sheriff’s S.W.A.T. is hosting an annual fundraiser golf tournament Monday, Sept. 9. The location will be Plumas Pines Golf Resort located at 402 Poplar Valley Road in Graeagle.

The S.W.A.T. team is seeking support from the community. Businesses and individual folks are invited to participate by making monetary donations or by sponsoring individual holes where an advertisement will be presented on the green at each hole sponsored.

Contests during the event will include closest to the pin, center of the fairway and longest drive. There will be a drawing and a silent auction.

A self-funded division of the Sheriff’s Office, the S.W.A.T. team goal is to replace outdated tactical and safety equipment. The Sheriff’s Office is seeking support to better serve the community.

Donations can be made to PCSO S.W.A.T. and dropped off or mailed to 1400 E. Main St. in Quincy. More information is available by calling 283-6375.
