Seneca Hospital Auxiliary kicks off a new year

The Seneca Hospital Auxiliary has been a vital element in the success of our local hospital for many years.

Having just finished up with a successful blood drive June 11, auxiliary members held their annual installation of officers in the conference room at the Almanor Clinic on June 12 in preparation for another busy year.

Many “wish list” items were completed in 2018-19 including the remodel of the hospital lobby and several new pieces of equipment.

There was an abundance of congratulations for President Kathy Donley and her officers and board who worked tirelessly to organize the many volunteer hours and fundraising events.

Donley had nothing but praise for all the members that were so dedicated to making the community events successful and for the many hours of volunteer work at the hospital.

She also offered a special thanks to the community for its generous support of the hospital.

Because of that generosity, SHA presented Hospital CEO Linda Wagner with a check for $35,000 to purchase additional needed equipment.

The new officers and board members for the 2019-20 year are: President Nancy Foote, Vice President Norine Shamberger, Secretary Dorothy Stroup, Treasurer Maggie Fleming and Board Members Janet Hancock, Sharlyne Anderson and Eileen Kennelly.

Game Day

The focus right now is on the next event coming up June 28.

Game Day is an annual event that offers friendly game competition playing Bridge, Hand & Foot or Mexican Train.

Entry cost is $35, which includes the games and lunch. There are also drawings for prizes and gift baskets.

The event will be held at Clifford’s Restaurant at 951 Clifford Dr. in Lake Almanor Country Club. Play begins at 10 a.m.
