Sheriff’s Office seeks help locating two teens; conflicting reports of sightings UPDATED
UPDATE July 7 1:05 p.m.: The two teens have been located in the eastern portion of Plumas County by an officer with the California Highway Patrol. The sheriff’s office thanks the public for sharing the information.
The Plumas County Sheriff’s Office is seeking assistance from the public in locating two missing runaway juveniles. Sophia Kortangian, 16, and , 16, have been reported missing from the Quincy area on the evening of July 5 and are believed to have run away together. It is suspected that they may be in the Quincy or Portola area.
According to a spokesman for the Sheriff’s Office this afternoon, July 6, there have been conflicting reports of sightings, with some reporting that they traveled to Portola on a transit bus last evening, while others reported seeing them in Quincy. The two do not have a vehicle.
Sophia Kortangian is described as a 16-year-old girl, approximately 5 feet 2 inches tall, weighing about 140 pounds. She was last seen wearing a blue, green, and red sweatshirt, along with black shorts.
Aideyn Knudson is described as a 16-year-old boy, approximately 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighing around 150 pounds. He was last seen wearing a blue tank top and shorts.
