Slid off highway 70 into a tree

Hannah Kelley, 20, of Quincy, was driving a 2003 Mini Cooper westbound on Highway 70 at 8:10 p.m. on Feb. 19. It was raining at the time. Kelley, who had been driving about 55 mph, applied her brakes too late and could not make the right turn onto Barlow Road. The vehicle slid off the north side of Highway 70 and collided with a pine tree. It came to rest on its wheels with its front end resting against the tree, facing in a northwesterly direction. A passing motorist called 911 to report the collision. Kelley was wearing her safety belt and was not on the phone at the time of the collision. She suffered minor injuries. No injuries were reported to her two juvenile passengers.
