Smoke in American Valley result of pile burning
The smoke in the American Valley/Quincy area today, Jan. 6, is due to planned pile burning.
The Plumas National Forest announced this afternoon that firefighters are continuing to burn piles in several locations across the forest including the Highway 70 corridor north of Quincy, Butterfly Valley and Bucks Lake.
