Start date for City of Portola Free Green Waste month stalled due to snow melt
The Northern Sierra Air Quality Management District (NSAQMD) in Portola has released an announcement on Monday, May 1 which states, “We are experiencing a delay with our Free Green Waste month of May. Due to snow melt that has created large standing puddles the road to the green waste piles are currently inaccessible at IMD (IntermountainDisposal). At this time IMD is unable to allow vehicles back there for fear of them getting stuck in the mud.”
The District and IMD remain partnered to offer this four week event free to the residents of the city of Portola. However, the start date is unclear at this time. Residents are encouraged to call Intermountain Disposal at 832-4879 for status updates or the NSAQMD office at 832-0102 extension 2.
