Summer Reading Program at your local library begins June 12
It’s time to join the Plumas County Library Summer Reading Program from June 12- Aug. 26. Children (infant to 18) are encouraged to sign up and set their personal weekly reading goal. Each week they reach that goal, they then visit the library and choose a prize, as well as fill out a raffle ticket for a chance to win a $30 gift card. Each branch is hosting the reading program and each branch will have a gift card winner. Children can do all 11 weeks or just one week, their choice. Participants may log the reading by whole books read per week, minutes per week, or pages per week, whatever works best for them. Reading to yourself, reading out loud as a family, or listening to someone else read all counts toward the goal of reading.
During July and August each branch will also host four weeks of fun, weekly programming at their branch. Check out the library website www.plumascounty.us/2712 for more details. (You do not have to do the reading logs to enjoy the programming, and you do not have to do the programs if you are doing the reading logs.)
