Surrounding partners to respond to Chester Fire fire calls temporarily
The Chester Public Utility District and Chester Fire Department want the community to know that due to challenges with securing liability insurance coverage for Chester Fire, 911 calls from within the service area for fire and medical emergencies will be responded to by local partners from neighboring fire departments and CalFire.
Adam Cox, the general manager of both entities, said that he is working with a variety of insurance providers to procure liability insurance as soon as possible. As for the reason for the drop in coverage, Cox said that information would be forthcoming later.
Insurance coverage for the utility district’s other operations remains intact.
CPUD will notify the community of its progress through the media and postings on the district website: www.chesterpud.org
