Suspect caught; shelter-in place for Quincy residents lifted
UPDATE: More information has been released and it has been shared that the suspect entered an elderly woman’s home in Quincy, masked and with a weapon, and took the woman’s car keys.
Original story: Some Quincy residents were alarmed to receive a shelter in place notice this morning at approximately 8:30 a.m., May 17, from the Plumas County Sheriff’s Office, but that notice has since been lifted.
Plumas News checked in with Sheriff Todd Johns, and he said deputies arrested the individual who had been observed trying to break into cars in a neighbored around Quincy Elementary School, Alder Street campus. It is suspected, but not yet confirmed, that this is the same individual who crashed a stolen car on Bradley Street yesterday and ran from the scene.
More information will be shared as it becomes available.
