The latest in Graeagle Men’s golf

Play Day for Aug. 17 for the Graeagle Men’s Golf Association included 21 participants playing a four-man 1-2-3 format. The rules for this game is the best net ball of the foursome on the first hole counts as the team score, two best balls count on the second hole, and three best balls count on the third hole. On the fourth hole the sequence starts over. Par for this format is 143. First and Second place winners received cash prizes. The team of Mark Yuill, Andy Knudsen, John Grasso and Dave Macdonald took first place with a net score of 126. Bill Bales, Norm Nichols, Bob McIlroy and Tom Fregulia made up the second place team with a net score of 131.
There were six “skins” awarded: Two to Norm Miller, and one each to Tom Fregulia, Ron Eaton, Bryan Hansen, and Corey Fanti.
Friday games on Aug. 19 had six players who competed in an individual low net format, plus skins. The field was unusually small because Friday was also the first day of the Guys and Gals Couples Club Championship and many of the members were playing in that event. Jim Oster took first place with a net score of 66. Norm Miller was the second place winner with a score of 67.
Six skins awarded: Two each to Norm Miller and Jim Oster, and one to Bob Davies and one to Norm Nichols.
