The Lost Sierra Plein Air Art Festival is underway. You can see the paintings produced this week at the artist reception on Friday, May 26, from 6-8 p.m. at the Veterans Hall in Quincy. Then on Saturday the 27th, Bradley Street between Main and Lawrence will be closed at 6 a.m. for an artist street fair from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. During the street fair the artists will be competing for cash prizes in a quick draw competition. They will be painting scenes in downtown Quincy within a two hour window between 10 a.m. and noon. They’ll bring their finished painting to the street fair to be judged and receive their awards at 1 p.m. Come down and enjoy the art. The Lost Sierra Plein Art Festival is a great event. I particularly enjoy reading about artists that are painting outdoor scenes – Plumas County is a treasure of outdoor art!
Huge thanks to Mark from downtown Quincy/ Bear Creek Frames for organizing this amazing event. We attended the show at the Vet’s Hall this evening and the paintings and artists, are fantastic.
