Three homes destroyed in fire

A fire broke out just after 12:30 a.m. this morning, Tuesday, Sept. 4, ultimately destroying three homes — a two story structure and two mobile homes — as well as several out buildings and vehicles on First Street in East Quincy. No injuries were reported. Quincy Fire responded along with departments from Meadow Valley, Greenhorn, Long Valley, Graeagle and Plumas Eureka. The cause of the fire is under investigation, though an initial theory is that it began in the two-story home and spread to a mobile home behind it, and to another next to it. More details will be provided as they become available.

Special thanks to Sheriff Greg Hagwood for being on-scene,untill it was controlled. Its a very comforting feeling knowing our Sheriff cares that much about us,we are very lucky to have him looking out for us in times of immediate need like this in the middle of the night.
Thank You Sheriff Hagwood!
I used to live in Quincy & I’m sorry this happened to you! I hope you and your family are all ok and knowing Quincy like I do I am sure people have pitched in to help you get re-settled somewhere. Good Luck. Grace
I grew up next door to the Howell’s house(original owners) and spent many hours in that home.
Seems like the original Redkey home (next door ) was saved
