Treetop falls on power lines causing disruption
PG&E spokesman Paul Moreno said that the widespread power loss in Plumas County is the result of a treetop falling on both distribution and power lines along Highway 70. Crews are at the scene and power is expected to be restored around 4:30 p.m.
Because it was a distribution line, it is also impacting Plumas Sierra Rural Electric customers. Power went out at about 1:14 p.m. to the following areas:
Grays Flat: 125 customers
East Quincy: 1,572 customers
Gansner substation: 2,984 customers
Spanish Creek: 922
Power was already out for Bucks Lake and some Canyon residents due to a planned outage for service.
