Veterans Stand Down moved to Aug. 28

     The annual Veterans Stand Down event had been postponed and will now take place on Saturday, Aug. 28 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Quincy Elks Lodge #1884 located at 2004 E. Main St., Quincy.

     Some of the services being offered are evacuee and fire survivor camping gear, gift cards, and other giveaways, free haircuts, military gear including boots. There will be exhibits and people to talk with offering a variety of services for veterans including mental health consultants, exercise and fitness, and nutrition.

     Proof of veteran status must be shown at the event to receive services.

     The event is being sponsored and supported by Plumas Crisis Intervention and Resource Center as well as the local American Legions, Elks Lodge, and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
