Warmth and hospitality a huge draw for Merchants’ Night
The Friday after Thanksgiving is referred to as “Black Friday,” but that would be a gross misrepresentation of the activities that take place in Chester.
The local merchants are open late yes, but the stores are festive with holiday decorations, warming fires that seem to be everywhere and small town hospitality that is the rule not the exception.
Beverages that included hot cocoa, cider and old fashioned wassail combined with an assortment of gourmet delights consisting of several types of hearty meatballs, hand crafted “Maw N Paw” KettleKorn and peppermint ice cream were offered for the enjoyment of many.
There was live music at some locations and a multitude of joyful voices as residents kicked off the beginning of this mountain holiday season.
