Celebrating his final appearance before the Plumas County Board of Supervisors in his capacity as outdoor festival permit head, Jim Graham was available to address a public hearing concerning an August festival proposed for Belden.
As the Department of Public Works senior environmental planner, it’s been Graham’s job to gather information on any major event proposals, including music festivals in the tiny community of Belden in the Feather River Canyon. Earlier this year that responsibility was shifted to John Steffanic, Plumas-Sierra County Fair manager.
“This is my last one,” Graham told supervisors, giving them a big smile as the public hearing opened July 9 during the regular meeting.
“This is a very good applicant,” Graham added getting right to the topic as he looked over the outdoor festival permit. This one is for a Colorado-based festival organizer for Wavespell on Aug. 15 through 19.
“They’re always on time,” Graham added about a group he’s worked with in the past. All of the agencies involved in the contract had been contacted and documented. Maps of the festival were also included in documentation.
“Excellent job getting this done,” said Supervisor Sherrie Thrall as members of the board approved the festival.
Graham has been working with Steffanic training him to take over the responsibility.
