Graeagle Meadows Women’s Golf Club

Lady golfers took to the greens on June 1 for a game they call “Mutt and Jeff” where only the scores on the four par 3’s and the four par 5’s are counted as the game score.  Flight A winners were:  Low Gross, Susan Anderson (39); First Low Net, Chris Laxague  (32); Second Low Net, Holly Anderson (34); and, Third Low Net, Carol Mitchell (net 35).  In Flight B, the winners were:  First Low Gross, Patty Monaghan (43); First Low Net, Mikie Burdick (30); Second Low Net, Lois Childress (34); and, Third Low Net, Tina Humphreys (35).  There were “chip-ins” galore that day.  Cynthia Baldwin, Mikie Burdick and Alaine Flynn each had one chip-in. Notably, Cynthia’s shot was a “super chip-in” from 88 yards out for an eagle 3 on the par 5 seventh hole!

Graeagle Men’s Golf Association

The men’s Play Day May 31 was a 2-man game and skins. Best net ball of the twosome on the front nine holes counted toward the team score, and both net balls counted on the back nine toward the team’s score. Under this format par is 108.  The winning team was Lance Raglen and Jim Adams with a net score of 100.  Second place with a score of 104 was the team of Bob Laxaque and Steve Peterson.  Third place with a score of 105 was the team of John Grasso and Jack Gilbert.  There were only two skins awarded, one each to Jim Foug with a 2 on hole 4, and Don Judson with a 2 on hole 13.

Twenty-four men’s golfers took part in games June 2 playing individual low net and skins.  Since six of the players were playing matches, only 18 were eligible to play in the game, however, all 24 players were eligible to play for skins.  First place was won by Norm Miller, with a net score of 70.  Second place was won by Jim Reynolds, with a net score of 73. Third and fourth place was a tie between Jim Adams and John Mitchell, with net scores of 74.  Fifth and sixth place was a tie between Burt Bellows and Mike Simpson, with net scores of 75.  Scores were unusually high net on such a pleasant day playing golf, with little wind, and no rain.  There were six skins awarded, one each to Burt Bellows with a 3 on hole 7, Jim Foug with a 2 on hole 9, Jeff Monaghan with a 1 on hole 12, Jim Adams with a 2 on hole 13 and Mark Yuill with a 2 on hole 16.
