Wild and Scenic Film Festival this Wednesday-in person and virtual

SYRCL’s Wild & Scenic Film Festival on Tour is back in Quincy. The 14th Annual Wild & Scenic Film Festival will be held Wednesday Sept. 15, at the Town Hall Theatre and virtually from your home.

Doors open at 6 p.m. for both options for this hybrid event. Films will begin showing at 6:30 pm and will end about 8:30pm. The festival is hosted by Plumas Arts.

This one-evening showing of 12 films from the three-day Wild & Scenic Environmental Film Festival in Nevada City is sponsored by many local organizations including, Feather River Land Trust, Taco Fly Co., Feather River Outdoors, Plumas Corporation, Friends of Plumas Wilderness, Pachuca Productions, Plumas County Fire Safe Council, and Quintopia Brewing Company.

One of the films featured at the event in Quincy is Dani Burt. This film is about a woman who found the courage to continue with life by surfing after she had a tragic accident. Her surfing led her on a path to becoming the first-ever women’s World Adaptive Surfing champion. This film will get you excited for Team USA, which refers to any of a number of sports teams representing the United States in international competitions, which Dani was a part of as a Paralympic surfer. Dani’s honest story will inspire you and her vigor for life is contagious. This film will be shown along with 11 other inspirational films.

Plumas Arts takes this opportunity to impassion people to act on behalf of the environment and their community.
