Winter storm warning in effect through early Wednesday

Local residents don’t need to be told that we are in the midst of a winter storm warning — they could hear the rain and wind throughout the night. The National Weather Service has a issues a winter storm warning through Wednesday morning, Dec. 28 at 10 a.m. — kicking off a week of wet weather. Western Plumas County could experience heavy snow at the higher elevations, while wind and rain remain an issue elsewhere.

Earlier this morning Highway 395 was closed to high profile vehicles from the junction of Highway 70 to the junction with Highway 36, The roadway is now open to all vehicles, but a  wind advisory is still in effect.
