Helicopters dousing lightning starts
Residents in the Taylorsville area might be noticing an increase in helicopter activity this evening, Sept. 17. According to the Plumas National Forest, the lightning that occurred over the past 48 hours has caused some single tree or 1/10 acre fires. A smoke was reported north of Evans Peak so that area has been targeted for a response as well. An earlier ignition in the vicinity was contained.
