Sheriff’s blotter: Nov. 3-4

Information in the Sheriff’s Blotter is gathered from the dispatch logs provided by the Plumas County Sheriff’s Office. No names are reported. And those arrested should be presumed innocent until proven guilty.

The following is a summary of activity for Nov. 3-4, 2021

Nov. 3

Unsolicited house calls

12:31 a.m. Greenville. A caller reports a male suspect banging on her door and yelling at her dogs. The caller hung up while on hold. A second 911 call came in advising the suspected male hopped the fence of the neighbor’s house and is screaming, possibly under the influence of drugs. The description of clothing or if there were any weapons was unknown. The caller requested to speak to a deputy and was advised that deputies would be on the scene as soon as they could. 12:54 a.m. CHP advised they are in the vicinity. 1:08 a.m. A deputy advised that CHP spoke with the caller and believes the identity of the subject is known. The subject is on foot and knocking over trashcans. The deputy advised the subject may have taken off into the woods. 1:43 a.m. A deputy advised suspicious circumstances. The second caller was contacted and the caller confirmed that the subject did not vandalize her fence and her dogs were still in the yard.

Vacation time for troublesome duo

12:03 p.m. Portola. A caller reports a mother bear and cub are becoming a nuisance. They are getting into cars and trash cans, it feels like someone is feeding them. This is the third time she has called and wants the bears relocated. 12:07 p.m. Fish and Wildlife dispatch was provided. 12:10 p.m. A sergeant attempted to contac,t but the line was busy. 4:38 p.m. The deputy advised attempting to contact but no answer and no voicemail. 10:57 p.m. A deputy attempted to contact and again no answer.

It’s for your own good, Mom

4 p.m. Graeagle. A caller reports his mother is on probation for a DUI. She is drinking and sneaking around. She is non-compliant and he wants a deputy to come test her. 6:29 p.m. A deputy contacted the caller and the subject. The subject blood alcohol level was 0.054. The deputy requests the info be faxed to probation to attempt to set up a sober link for the subject. 6:47 p.m. the caller is requesting the deputy to return; would like his mother taken to jail. She took alcohol, hid, and drank it. 7:23 p.m. The subject was issued a probation violation.

Dental damnation

4:22 p.m. Quincy. PDH Dental Clinic reports that a patient made threats to the office and has an appointment. The office is requesting a civil standby for his appointment. The caller said the subject said they’re gonna regret turning him away. The subject has an appointment in a few days.

Getting a head of things

4:16 p.m. Greenville. A caller requests assistance in regards to a headstone in the way of continuing their debris removal in Greenville. The caller was advised to contact the property owner.

But I haven’t finished my salad!

5:59 p.m. Paxton. A caller reports that a subject is causing a verbal argument. The caller said she got the subject out of the house and locked the door, but now the subject is banging on the door. 6:49 p.m. A sergeant contacted both parties and they agreed to keep the peace.

There’s a switch

8:43 p.m. Canyon Dam. A caller reports a possible fire at the PG&E yard on Hwy. 89, just past Canyon Dam boat launch. The fire is seen from the roadway. The caller did turn around to see better but it’s behind a locked gate.

Desperate for attention, burning the midnight oil

11:57 p.m. Quincy. A caller reports a large bear on her front porch and pushing against her garbage cans. The caller said it’s the mobile home on the right. 12:08 a.m. A sergeant advised contact with the caller who advised Yogi left prior to arrival.

Nov. 4

Hurry up and help me

5:46 a.m. Quincy. A caller reports he believes his neighbor was lurking in his yard. The caller requests deputy contact at home as the phone is not working. 5:52 a.m. The subject was issued a trespass warning. 7:32 a.m. A deputy advised while attempting to inquire about the incident that the caller became upset and walked away from the deputy.

Two sides of the coin

7:38 a.m. Mohawk. A caller requests to speak to a deputy about someone trying to purchase items from the hardware store in his name, the subject is a known person. 10:06 a.m. A sergeant advised it is a civil issue. In July, the subject was the caller’s caretaker. The caller’s water heater broke and the caretaker went and ordered parts but the put the parts on her husband’s account. The caller refused to pay for the parts so the caretaker’s husband went to the hardware store yesterday and had the parts put onto the callers account.

We’ve only just begun

7:54 a.m. Portola. A caller reports that her neighbors are staying in a travel trailer on the empty property next door and continue to run a generator all times of the day and night. The caller also said that the owners fight and yell at all times of the day and night. 10:10 a.m. A sergeant advised contact with the caller. The info is on file at this time and the caller will recontact if the noise continues at an unreasonable hour of the night.

Adventuresome twosome barrels past boundaries

8:27 a.m. Greenville. A caller reports that approximately 15 minutes ago, a white Subaru blew past the road closures starting at the south end closure on Hwy. 89. The caller said that when the subject came to the other side they attempted to stop the driver but were almost hit. The caller said that two employees were almost hit by the vehicle. The subjects continued north on Highway 89 toward Chester. The Subaru Forester had two occupants, a male driver and a female passenger.

No joy in Quincy

6:07 p.m. Quincy. A caller reports her daughter’s male roommate packed her daughter’s things and put them in the mother’s driveway. The daughter was not given notice to move out; there are things all over the caller’s yard and she is not happy. Proper civil procedures were given.
