Beckwourth Fire has opening for paid duty officer

Duty Officer for the Beckwourth Fire District/Portola Division, part-time 25 hrs/week, Monday-Friday with a possibility of job sharing to facilitate shift changes, 90-day probationary period. Pay will start at $13/hr. increasing to $15/hr. upon successful completion of probationary period.

Duties include but are not limited to: responding to all 911 calls, both fire and medical; station maintenance including cleaning engine bays and office space; vehicle checks; completing medical and fire run reports; answering phones and greeting the public; attending public relation events; inventory equipment and order supplies for both medical and fire; assist in training new volunteer firefighters.

Qualifications: Certified Emergency Medical Responder; Emergency Medical Technician preferred; Firefighter Class C endorsement; prior fire department experience preferred; preference will be given to current residents of Portola.
