Special Vacancy Notice

This notice is to announce a vacancy occurred on the following board: Hamilton Branch Fire Protection District to fill the vacancy of Ronald Mendoza whose term ends on December 6, 2019

The remaining Hamilton Branch Community Services Board Members plan to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Ronald Mendoza. The appointment will hold office until the next Uniform District Election.

In compliance with the Maddy Appointive Registry, this appointment can be made on or after August 26, 2019.

REQUEST FOR INFORMATION REGARDING DOMESTIC WATER SUPPLIES

A Timber Harvesting Plan (THP) will be submitted to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (Cal Fire) in portions of section 2 of Township 26 North, Range 06 East, sections 34 and 35 of Township 27 North, Range 06 East and section 31 of Township 27 North Range 07 East MDM. The proposed THP is located adjacent to Humbug Valley. This notice is to request information about domestic water supplies that are derived from Class I, II and IV watercourses that receive drainage from the THP area and is within 1,000 feet downstream of the THP boundary. Watercourses that could be affected are Humbug Creek, Yellow Creek and unnamed tributaries. If you have any information about domestic water supplies from these sources, please contact (within 10 days)

NATIONAL FOREST

TIMBER FOR SALE

LASSEN NATIONAL FOREST

The PARCHED MP THIN Sale is located within T29N R3E Sections 1, 2, 11, 12, 13 & 14; T29N R4E Sections 6 & 7; T30N R3E Sections 35 & 36; T30N R4E Section 31; Mt. Diablo Meridian.  The Forest Service will receive sealed bids in public at Lassen National Forest Supervisor’s Office, 2550 Riverside Drive, Susanville, CA 96130 at 10:00 AM local time on 09/19/2019 for an estimated volume of 37176 ton of Combined Softwood sawtimber,  and 8974 ton of Combined Softwood grn bio cv marked or otherwise designated for cutting. In addition, there is within the sale area an unestimated volume of Other Softwood grn bio cv that the bidder may agree to remove at a fixed rate. Sale contains specified roads with an estimated public works construction cost of $74,155.25. Bidders qualifying as small business concerns under the Small Business Act may, when submitting a bid, elect for the Forest Service to build permanent roads. Additional information concerning this option is in the prospectus. The Forest Service reserves the right to reject any and all bids.  Interested parties may obtain a prospectus from the office listed below. A prospectus, bid form, and complete information concerning the timber, the conditions of sale, and submission of bids is available to the public from the Almanor Ranger District Office, 900 East Highway 36, Chester, CA 96020.   The USDA is an equal opportunity provider and employer.

Preliminary Advertisement

Sale of National Forest Timber

The Forest Service intends to advertise timber designated for cutting in the following proposed timber sale area on the Lassen National Forest on 8/27/2019. The Wilson Fire Salvage Timber Sale is located approximately 10 air miles northwest of Chester, CA. This is a completely marked salvage timber sale. There are approximately 84.3 acres of salvage and roadside hazard tree removal units consisting of fire-killed and fire-damaged conifers as a result of the Wilson Fire, which burned from September 28 to November 30, 2018. Sawtimber consists mainly of white fir, ponderosa pine, and incense-cedar; with a very small lodgepole pine component. There is no biomass removal associated with this sale.

This advance notice is to afford interested parties time to examine the sale area prior to regular advertisement. Interested parties may obtain information and maps about the sale area from the Almanor Ranger District Office, 900 East Highway 36, Chester, CA 96020. The final advertisement will contain estimated volumes, specified road costs, final bid date and time, and other conditions of the sale.
