3 arrested in Portola on drug charges
Three adults in a Portola area home started out their New Year in jail.
At approximately 6 p.m., Jan. 1, Plumas County Sheriff’s officers served a search warrant at a residence on County Road A15, according to Investigations Sgt. Steve Peay. This was the home of Lance Eardley, 43.
During the search of the home, deputies located several ounces of methamphetamine, scales, cash and other items to indicate methamphetamine was allegedly being sold there, Peay explained.
“A loaded pistol was also discovered near where the methamphetamine was stored inside the residence,” he said.
Eardley was arrested and charged with possession for sales of a controlled substance, specifically methamphetamine, and possession of a controlled substance while armed with a loaded firearm. The exact amount of methamphetamine was not disclosed.
Eardley was transported to the Plumas County Correctional Facility in Quincy. He is being held on $30,000 bail.
Also inside the residence, deputies located and arrested Ayla Barrow, 31, of Portola. She was charged with being under the influence of a controlled substance, and possession of a controlled substance.
A second woman, April Burge, 45, of Riverside, was arrested and charged with being under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and possession of illegal drug paraphernalia, and possession of a controlled substance without a prescription.
Barrow and Burge were taken to the correctional facility. They are being held on $2,000 bail, each.
The case has been referred to the Plumas County District Attorney’s Office.
