EPCAN – Eastern Plumas Community Assistance Network seeks volunteers

Submitted by Craig Simmons

Like all non-profit organizations, volunteers are our lifeblood and they are, quite literally, “Priceless:”  defined as having a value beyond any price.  The  Eastern Plumas Community Assistance Network – EPCAN Food Bank in Portola – is no different.

Since our founding in the early 1990s, serving our local communities has been made possible through a long list of dedicated volunteers over the years and from a supportive community.  It is interesting to note, over the last six months, new volunteer applicants now comprise about 40 percent of our total volunteer roster.  “This is quite remarkable and we could not be more pleased,” according to EPCAN Board President, Dink Rife (also a volunteer).

Those who might be interested in joining the EPCAN Team of volunteers, or just making a donation, you may write to EPCAN, 120 Nevada Street, Portola, CA 96122 or you may contact Cathy Churchill directly at 530-836-1485.
